I had about three days notice before mine so know how you feel, with it being your first one.
I’m sure you’ll be fine and in good hands. Are you having sedation or general anaesthetic?
No idea mate - guess I will find out on the day
Have you had a pre-procedure assessment over the phone before you go in today?

Well pleased for you Kenny, the less days to worry the better. You will sail through it and be on your way home before you know it. Your a glass full kind of a chap so I know you will be fine. All the very best 👍

Best thing I ever did, still have AF but an 80% improvement. Starting to make enquiries about having a 2nd
Very conveniently I have been in very mild AFib for last 24hrs so they won't have to induce it
I was the opposite, when I went into hospital for mine, after 7 days of afib I went back into NSR, had to be induced.

Best of luck, my own AF was always reasonably mild but random . The cryo ablation was fine but unfortunately wasn't completely successful so had a follow up RF ablation 2 weeks ago . So far I've had no AF so I'm living I hope this one has worked but I'd have no hesitation having another if required .I'm sure you'll have no issues with the procedure 👍

I had a Cryoblation in March and last Friday had my follow up RF ablation . Very early days but no AF so far and I haven’t gone 6 days with no AF for over 12 months .
I had Sedation for both and I would jump back on the table tomorrow if I had to .
It’s a breeze and well worth it .
Please keep your anxiety as low as possible as it really is going to be ok and although daunting it’s nothing to worry about .

The anticipation is always the worst part of these procedures! I am sure everything will go very well and you will look back on the whole thing with relief after a few days. Nobody could be more of a coward than me. it is normal to feel very apprehensive. Anybody who doesn't feel like that is just a fibber! 🦊
Good luck! Having the procedure at short notice has the advantage that there is less time for preoccupation beforehand.

Less time to fret about it. I was bricking it up until the day then, weirdly, a strange sense of calm came over me as I sat waiting..... very strange for me.😁.You'll be having a sandwich and a cuppa before you know it.

Good luck! I’m on the waiting list for one in Edinburgh. Have been told it will be sedation. Will likely freak out if I get a cancellation, though it’s more likely to be months away.
I’m in the same boat. Had a call yesterday telling me they had a cancellation for next Wednesday. Of course we all get anxious but this is my second ablation so I know what’s coming. You will be well looked after by very professional teams and caring staff.

It will prob not be general for cryoablation. You'll be nicely sedated though and in good hands. The build up is probably the worst part if you're nervous. Try and stay calm and focus on something...take a book or something to do that doesn't need too much concentration. Read the fact sheets beforehand as there are some helpful facts I hadn't been made aware of and good tips about the before, during and after care.Pack an overnight bag and remember to take it super easy afterwards... rest and heal! A weekend of doing nothing at all!

It will soon be over and then you will be able to relax. It really isn't as bad as we think. I know how you must feel . I was anxious with mine but I've had worse at the dentist. If that makes sense 🤔.

Great news. I had a Cryoblation in May, I came round about an hour after I went into theatre, they are so well organised in theatre.

Hi Kenny that's great news l had a similar experience at the Golden Jubilee phone call on a Friday ablation on the Monday. Excellent hospital with state of the art facilities, you will be fine as both doctors and nurses are brilliant.

I was really anxious before my first ablation but it was no where near as difficult as I expected- good luck and hope all goes well.

Best of luck. I had a first ablation in December, having had AF approx every other day prior to the ablation. I have been (so far) AF free since the end of January.
