My heart is bursting in a good way! Nothing to do with AF but I wanted to share nice news in all the doom and gloom

first grandchild arrived ! He is so gorgeous. Both are well. He is our sons child.

How exciting for you, I'm so envious - babies are so tiny and gorgeous! Can't wait for my granddaughter to start a family, hopefully this time next year I'll have her baby to coo over. I can see us all fighting over who holds it! So pleased for you.

Iv walked into cello tape across the door frame😡

Iv had a spring loaded rubber snake fly out at me when Iv lifted toilet seat up.! not funny at 2.30 in the morning when half asleep .!!!!

They gave me a lovely little pen for work which turned out to be a electric shocker pen, not funny when you have customers sat infront of you.!!!!!

My morning wash has left my face black with joke soap.!😡

Then there’s the dreaded BANGER trick.??

I pick something up and end up throwing it because there’s a banger underneath it.

Not funny when it’s a cup of tea😡

It’s not finished when they leave either unfortunately.?

I hear a terrible scream from upstairs and find my wife stood against the bedroom wall with eye balls like dinner plates.?

a life like brown rat is sat on the wardrobe.😡

I love it when they leave. They often ask why I cry when I’m throwing/ placing them in their parents car.?

As I gently take my hand from around their throats I tell them it’s tears of joy and relief that I’m not going to see you until next week.

I swiftly slam the door and run away all happy.👍

I have three who are relatively well behaved (it's just their Dad who gets up to tricks) and I have another two who are little devils and love to tease us - although they haven't yet thought of doing the things you describe!

Make the most of it! They grow up too soon (or, in my son's case - never!).🤣

Now there getting older they are interested in magician tricks.!I bought them a learn how to be a magician set and they are getting really good at showing me tricks.👍

The eldest has been practicing for last 6 months and is showing no signs of getting bored.👍

I hope they don’t want to practice the cut you in half trick with grandad.?????😳

I was an August baby (a very long time ago…) but started in the September and wish I hadn’t as I was always the youngest in the class.

Yes,It is well known to teachers that August babies be at a disadvantage. I taught at Secondary level and could still see the difference in some children. But then,the education system is run by non teachers,!!

Yes - my mum was, she told me, always having to remind the teachers that I was actually rather young for the year.

So you’re another teacher - what did you teach? I taught English and still do a little tuition. I wonder if all that stress in the classroom led to the arrhythmias!?!

English! Yes I believe so. I ended up moving into Community Education ,working with families to raise their literacy and numeracy skills.

I thought it would be less stressful.

My son did much the same, starting with an English degree, going into a primary PGCE but then teaching in adult ESOL. He enjoys it and it is surely less stressful except the lessons are 2-3 hours long. Imagine Year 10s for that length of time!

Many congratulations. There is nothing like a grandchild and I should know, I have 10 ❤. We waved goodbye to 3 of them on Saturday who had come to stay with us for a week, alongside their parents, my son and daughter in law.

Mine are aged from 22yrs to 6mths and are the absolute joy of mine and my husbands lives.

Enjoy snuggles with your new arrival, Christmas ' are about to get a whole lot more expensive 🤣
