Changed from Cardevilol to Nebivilol trying to sort out side effects. On lowest dose of Nebivivlol and although side effects greatly reduced the problem is still there.
Cardiologist has now put me on Verapmil ( not seen the cardiologist ) I'd like to start off on the lowest dose because I am so sick of feeling ill with the side effects.
I have 120mg to be taken 3 times a day, have queried this with the GP but waiting on the answer.
Does anyone have information about this ?
Thanks

It sounds like quite a high dose.I took Verapamil for several years with 120mg twice daily. It quite suddenly stopped working/controlling , Afib attacks and I began to get fierce...chest bouncing all over the place.... with Afib. When I Got to A and E with a followup in depth med review Ver. was stopped and Bisoprolol took its place.
Thanks for that, I'm sure the GP had said it would start at a low dose with a view to increasing which is why I queried it. Started off with Bisoporol which started these side effects. I wish I didn't have to take any
Hiya tabletphobic,
Just catching up after your comments to my recent post. Can I ask about your side effects with Nebivilol , like what did you experience ? I suppose the important thing for me did it push your HR very low. In a perfect world, back in the day when Bisoprolol did work for me, I was pretty chuffed at HR of 63 to 67 - ideally 72 would have me functioning like Superman.
My heart rate seemed to stay the same, my side effects are a swelling /pain around ribs and into chest. These were worse with Cardivilol, reduced with Nebivilol but still there. Also I take it at night because once I do I'm zonked only to wake up a couple of hours later
Verapamil works for many, but I had problems with it as it practically put me in a catatonic state -- I was quite zombie-like at work, nearly losing my job for lack of attention span. I switched doctors, got off the drug and my life returned. Hopefully a low dose will work for you.
