My old not very liked friend.

Hi all, well after three weeks of AF behaving itself. Woke up this morning and pulse was 124. I thought here we go again. Been to Doctors had a check. He is. It concerned as I have no chest pain or anything just the ectopic heartbeats eats and very erratic. Have had a sleep just and it seems to be calming down. I have a lot,of problems at the moment and of course that doesn’t help.Everyone says keep calm but it is easier said than done when it is all you can think about. I am so fed up at the moment and then my AF steps in.

Lots of love Gillybean123

I hope you get something sorted out soon with your AF issues. Take care xx

Sorry you are down. I think many of us here understand. Trying to cope with AF is enough without other health issues! I wish you well and that you bounce back soon.🥰

Oh people love to say, "Keep calm". As if they have a clue! ;-) I have insomnia, too, and am often being told how to sort it - leaving me tight-lipped and feeling as if it's all somehow my own fault! Feeling fed up or mildly down is awful, too - truly awful. But it does and will go away. It always does and always will, even if it absolutely doesn't feel that way at the time.

I think AF often (usually?) does return, but is often "mild" and without major symptoms. I get mostly ectopics and a mild racing, up to the rate yours was, and very little AF, only occasional. I hope you find bisoprolol or similar sorts you out and that all goes well. It's bad luck, especially when life throws other wobblies your way.

Yes I think if the people who keep saying keep calm and take deep breaths and splash cold water over yourself had an AF attack I wonder what they would be like. I know every which way of how to try and stop it. Ut at the end of the day it won’t stop until it is ready.

And it starts when it's ready, too. All is fine, then, all is not fine. How weird it is. Have you any beta-blocker tablets or similar to take when it hits? I use 1.25mg bisoprolol. It takes an hour more to do its magic, but it definitely (fingers crossed, so far...) makes me feel calmer heart-wise (which is a big ask, as they say, with me).

Hi there sorry for late reply but was feeling really off. Have managed to sort my brain out with everything else that is going on. My heart went back to normal on Tuesday thank goodness but gosh I am so zapped. I take flecanide with one as Pill in the pocket. I take two at the start of a bout. And it does do the trick. But I have had AF for I think 14 years now and it always knocks me about. I used to take bisoprolol but I used to struggle to breath when walking my dogs. But when our old friend decides to make a visit we can’t shut it out.I also take verapamil which I swear by now. X

Yeah, unless you have had afib you don't get it. Like you said, it will stop when it is ready.

I feel for you. Afib is awful and seems to start up with stress. Hope you convert very soon.
