If your heart is structurally sound, Flecainide is generally well tolerated as far as anti-arrhythmic drugs go. That said, one size does not suit all with medications. We all react differently.

I have taken Flecainide for about 30 years and am unaware of any associated side effects.

For me it has helped control my heart rhythm problems.

When I first started taking Flecainide years ago I imagined I was getting every side effect. Thank goodness I persevered as it's been the most successful pill ever to help reduce AF.

Hi Chase.

Flec can work wonders - kept me out of afib for a few years. Make sure you stick to your doctors instructions though regarding dose. A small amount of beta blocker is also a good idea to take along side it. Idiot here decided to take a 'little' extra after a big meal - not a good idea.

Stick with your doctors instructions and I think you may find it could work well for you.

I did not tolerate it well and I'm pretty sure Flecainide gave me tinnitus as I did not have issues before taking it (luckily I'm no longer on it). All of that said, I think I'm in a very very small minority. Tinnitus is a rare side effect and as others have stated Flecainide is generally well tolerated and works great. Just not for me.

In the work up to my afib dx they found I had tinnitus before any medication was given. Because anxiety was suspected (answer from all Drs Don’t Know out there). Interestingly my tinnitus is worse (sound sensitivity to boot) during an afib flare. Just thought I’d share that as I had no idea I had tinnitus until told by the audiologist, The only symptom I get now is ice-pick stabbing between my shoulder blades, which was the first symptom that alerted me to something wasn’t right! Hope I’m not going to faint again as Flec has really helped me live a better quality of life (tried Sotalol then Bisoprosolol prior).

Yes answer to everything. I believe most of these drugs cause anxiety done how. It even tells you in the side effects that it can give you anxiety.

I have been on 50mg flecainide one in the morn and one in the evening since the 1st of the year and ever since I started this drug my joints hurt. I initially thought it was my age, 67 but it is progressively worse now. Has anyone had any issues with overall joint pain?

I take 50mg twice a day which is the lowest dose Flecainide worked for me to stop my PVC s. I don’t have any side effects and according to my EP and cardiologist it’s very very rare he gets any negative feedback from patients he’s prescribed the medicine to

Thanks for the info. I am beginning to see good results also. I think my lightheadedness is because of low BP but at this point I don’t know why.
