Digoxin
Glad you ae feeling so well
I hope it starts working soon! HR 151 yesterday
I hope so too. That's a very high HR. Let is know how it goes, please?
Well Digoxin didn’t work. Felt dreadful and hr still very high during episodes. Have been told by cardiologist to stop and next step is a three day monitor and a chat with EP re pacemaker. Paying for the monitor privately so only have to wait a week for it. Mind you today is third day clear of AF. Next week will see me wanting AF. 😢
Digoxin was the only thing that helped me when I had persistent atrial flutter and I didn't think that it caused any side effects (although I was feeling rough anyway). Your heart rate is still too high, though, if that is persistent, so perhaps the dosage needs to be tailored better to your needs? I'd phone your doctor to see what can be done.
Steve
Thankfully it has subsided today.
My cardiologist started me with a higher dose of Digoxin then, gradually after kidney function tests, has been reduced to only 125.5 in the morning. It is fine to keep my HR low when I'm on AF which is permanent. I'm also taking Metoprolol 25 mg twice a day. All these make it difficult to exercise for me. I'm an elderly woman, so...everyone is and react differently to meds.
I shall be 80 next year so persevering with the Digoxin for now. Feeling a little tired and depressed but hope these symptoms go.
