Hi all, I remember this subject being discussed before so I am sorry if I am digging up old information.
A few months ago I was put back on Flecainide. I didn't notice much improvement in the frequency of my AF attacks. However, when I received my last packet of Flecainide from the pharmacy I noticed it was from a different manufacturer and thought nothing of it. I have now gone for the longest period without AF for years and wonder if I can attribute this to the change. I haven't changed anything else. It could be a coincidence of course. The new Flecainide is produced by Tillomed. Has anyone else had experience of this brand?
Many thanks Tx

That’s interesting. As far as I can make out Tillomed Laboratories are in Great Marlings, Luton.I haven’t looked into this before but will certainly think about it in the future.
Accord seems to work better for me with all my medications and pharmacy always try hard to get that brand for me. I can tolerate Teva for a while if needs be. I do have a pack of Tilomed but yet to try them. The active ingredient is the same but it’s the fillers that cause the problems for people usually. If I do get a different make I check the ingredients and if in same order and amount it should be ok.
Accord took over/bought out Actavis a few years back but the ingredients stayed exactly the same, at least for the drugs I take. x
It just goes to show how different we all are!I had the opposite to you, I’m normally given Almus Flecainade in my local boots.I used to get blurred vision in the mornings with it but that happens very rarely now. ( optician was fine with it, I don’t drive).
Once I was given Tillomed. My reflux gradually over about ten days went so bad that the pills I was taking in the evening, bisoprolol and others, were feeling like they were stuck fast in my gullet. I was drinking so much water trying to shift the feeling that I was up half the night.
Also worried the pills would cause harm where they were stuck.
I was a bit ahead with my Persciption orders so could order my next lot early, I asked for my usual Almus and started them as soon as I received them and the symptoms gradually eased off over the next fortnight but took ages to clear up completely.
I had similar recently but nothing like as bad with Milpharm lansoprazole.
Have had to have notes put on my account at boots and never leave the shop without checking what I’ve been given.
I always order my Persciption the day they come due on the surgery’s online system so I have pills in hand and the time to refuse the Persciption in the shop and hopefully get the ones I can take with no problems.
The best flecainade I ever had, no blurred vision, felt fine on, were Mylan, only had them once, I believe they are expensive.
Hi, sorry I have no knowledge of Tillomed, I take Bisoprolol and my pharmacy give me different brands just about every time. Brand difference is something I am interested in, I am on a breast cancer forum and this is discussed frequently. I take a drug to suppress oestrogen, to help prevent my cancer from returning. It is a one x daily pill, like my Bisoprolol. I don't know if different brands of Bisoprolol effect me differently, can't really say I've noticed, but I don't have AF, I take it for SVT, which seems well controlled at present. However, I definitely have noticed different side effects from different brands of my hormone suppressant, as have many ladies on the breast cancer forum. Accord brand is much preferred by lots of the ladies, and it is the one I get on with best. My uneducated layperson's guess is that some of the coatings are better or worse for time released once daily pills. Or I could be completely wrong, but whatever, Accord is definitely much better for me. Unfortunately, my pharmacist hardly ever can source it. I hope Tillomed continues to be good for you, that's brilliant that it's working so well for you.
