While in hospital very recently I was showered, gowned up and ready for my ablation which they decided at the last minute they were unable to carry out due to my INR levels. Five weeks on I was due to have my ablation yesterday having had my Warfarin dose tweaked until I was within the required range and had had a PCR test followed by 3 days of isolation.
Two minutes from the hospital I received a telephone call to say my procedure had been cancelled . I have been given a new date , 31st May, so I now have to go through the preparations again in addition to the mental preparation.
So feeling somewhat frustrated.

Hi Bob. I am resigned to the situation and just grateful that Im not unwell or in pain as are many people waiting for their operations or procedures. It is always good to have a little rant and then move on !
Hi Bob. Me again. I received a copy of a letter from my consultant cardiologist today . Tried to get an appointment with my GP either face to face or telephone consultation to discuss but no joy until mid June! The letter follows my recent echocardiogram and says it reealed mild LV systolic impairment with ejection fraction of 49%; bi-atrial dilatation; dilated ascending aorta; mild/moderate mitral regurgitation; my mechanical aortic valve was seen to be in stable position with mild trans-valvular regurgitation.
A lot to take in and what does it all mean? I dont want to go down the Google black hole so with your knowledge and experience I thoughts I'd ask you!My ablation was cancelled and rescheduled for 31 May but my INR count today was 1.5! They need it to be 2.5( or at least under 3) . The ablation I was due to have whilst in hospital was cancelled due to an INR of 1.7 so I'm not feeling too hopeful about this one. I have another INR test on Friday and just waiting for docs for new Warfarin dose.
All I can tell you is that echocardiogram results are subjective and up to how the operator sees things, so Mild to one may be trace to another. That you have an artificial valve makes a lot of what you wrote related I think. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
Thanks Bob Iappreciate your reply. I just wish I could speak to a medic to understand what it all means and to be given some do's and don'ts. Google tells me I have a max of 5 years life left! I have booked to see my GP on 14 June so hopefully will have answers then.
