watchman procedure? Also, Arjuna, is it a cure?
It is not a cure for anything. It is a way of reducing your stroke risk from AF by blocking off the left atrial appendage from which many clots emanate . It has no affect on AF at all.
Medscape have a new article about the Watchman. Written by John Mandola. I'll see if I can find the link.
Medscape has a good article about LAAO . The title of the piece is Percutaneous Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion: ACC Data Challenge Promise vs Reality

I think you would need to read this carefully and then make up your mind. I wouldn't go with Watchman.
As regards Arjuna, we would all be on it if it worked! I've tried lots of herbs/supplements in the past and none worked.
I have had a Watchman device implanted 2 years ago now. This was after an ablation for AF. The ablation so far has been relatively successful . Because of my high stroke risk and because of severe bleeding issues from Xarelto the Watchman was suggested by my electrophysiologist after considerable consultation. I have had no problems and am now off anticoagulants and just take asprin every 2nd day.I believe it is extremely important to find and research the experience of the electrophysiologist which is what i did as a few years ago when it was being trialed many cardiac surgeons were too inexperienced in this procedure and leaks and thrombus were forming on the device.
My advice is to make an informed decision.
I am now 76 years old and live in Australia.
