apple watch 7

I just bought an Apple watch 7. The ECG shows that I am in sinus rhythm and sometimes AFIB. Majority is in Sinus rhythm. I do have afib and a stroke last December. I have changed my lifestyle and diet and lost so far 25lbs and got another 18 to go to my ideal BMI. Does the fact that the Apple watch say I am in normal sinus mean that I am improving?

Hi - well done with weight loss!

Hard to say if you’re improving if you didn’t know where you were before. Main thing is - do you feel better?

Are you asymptomatic?

They told me i was in peristent afib before. The Dilziatem and Carvidelol still make me dizzy and other symptoms. I so much want to be off medications.

Definitions of ‘persistent’ can be vague sometimes - take it to mean AF keeps coming back so that would fit more with Paroxysmal - it comes and goes.

I am sorry you are not tolerating the meds very well, can you talk to your doctors about that and ask for a review on dosage and other options?

Congratulations on the weight loss. Yes, drug side effects can sometimes really impact quality of life. Why don't you ask your doctor for a trial off of diltiazem when you're not in afib. Personally, I only take diltiazem for rate control when in afib.

You could also ask about trying another bp drug other than Carvidelol, if that's what you're taking it for.
