😀😀😀😁......well done! Great isn't it? I've had some DCCVs which have lasted 4/5 years !
Thankyou.Quite anxious as can't quite believe it. Anesthetic gives me a few niggles but worth it. Sure I will feel better in the morning.
That’s great! Fingers crossed for you 🤞. My husband is scheduled to have one, at the end of this month (if it goes ahead) it’s been cancelled twice this year already 😏.
Best wishes Ally.
Good to hear!! I really like having cardioversions. You go in feeling awful and then suddenly you're better. Don't do anything that requires effort for a week or two now and let your heart get used to beating in it's correct rhythm.

Whoops thanks for the advice.I have booked gentle excercise classes for a weeks time.Senior Arrythmia nurse who supervised the Cardioversion said would be ok. I have been doing them most of the time in AF & can take it easy if need be. Will be doing a small amount of walking prior to this to gradually get it used to working differently.
I don't want to burst your bubble of happiness, but you would be annoyed with me if I didn't recommend ways to keep your heart in rhythm now. I once walked up a hill the day after having a cardioversion (I've had lots) and it immediately went back into AF. No large meals, alcohol or wearing anything tight around your waist (trousers, or skirts) or chest (bra).
Thanks your advice always appreciated.I went for a short walk this morning.Just over a mile. More difficult than when I was in AF.Chest pain but probably to be expected.Went away when I sat down.3 times. As I say worse than in AF.But still in nsr.Not sure I can manage without a bra though. Not inclined towards alcohol for a while. Thanks again for the advice.
Took me 6 months to get appointment & 6 months on waiting list.Hope your hubby gets sorted soon.
Stay in your happy place 😀
Really pleased for you and share your feelings of happy bubble. xxx
Isn't it bliss?
So glad it worked take it nice and eady now and enjoy nsr.👍💕🙏🙏🙏
Such great news. 😊
Hi,
Well done , so pleased for you.
I had my first cardaioversion 5 week ago, took 3 attempts to achieve NSR.
Still in NSH and I count each day as a blessing.
Some good advice in the replies to take things easy and build up exercising gradually also eat well and if you need to lose weight now is a good time to start. All will help you to stay in NSR.
Did you have any hiccups or niggles.Showing irregularities allready
Hi,
No to hiccups but yes to having had palpitations quite often for a short while which just come and go and also occasions where I have an irregular rhythm but for no more than say a minute or so. Nothing that’s lasted any length of time.
My A-AFib started at the beginning of December last year, I had no idea what it was so went to A&E and was put on Bisoprolol. My A-Fib was continuous so I decided to go private and had a cardioversion at the beginning of February.
My cardiologist wanted me to stay on Bisoprolol but at a reduced dose of 1.25 mg for a month but I had to stop them after a week as now I was in NSR the medication was pulling my heart rate down to the low forties.
I forgot to say in my earlier post that sleep and stress are also important in controlling A-Fib, I now go to bed at the same time every night and make sure I have 8 hours sleep and which from my Fitbit I can see my sleep quality has improved.
I also do not let myself get stressed over what are often such silly matters but of course in the back of my mind I wonder if/when A-AFib will return, it’s like having the sword of Damocles above your head.
I hope that above has helped but please do not hesitate to ask any questions and I will try and help.
Thankyou quite helpful.I didn't actually mean physical hiccups but setbacks and seems you had a couple.I am not easily stressed but as it took a year to get the Cardioversion I worry I will just go back to Persistent AFib.
👍👍
