Could it be the hot drink rather than the make of tea? I drink only green or herbal teas without milk but my husband drinks Barrys Tea (Irish Brand) with no problems.
As everyone is so individual what works or doesn’t for us may not for you so basically it’s trial and error. Have you tried decaffeinated brands?
It could be the “hot” part that is the issue rather than the “tea” unless you drink copious amounts of tea. I cant drink very hot or cold drinks without it setting off palpitations. Annoying as i love my hot drinks hot not tepid but its not good for our oesophagus either to have too hot liquid regularly. Anything irritating my oesophagus sets my palpitations off.
I only drink decaf tea but it still gives me a little 'flutter' on occasion. I also drink Rooibos tea (Redbush) which is cafeine free which I have no problem with. Interestingly I sometimes drink decaf coffee but it never really agrees with me - I think it may be something other than just the cafeine that acts as a minor trigger.
I drink Yorkshire decaf tea. I didn’t used to like drinking tea before I tried this.
I drink Barry’s decaf tea. Most flavor I’ve found in a decaf black tea. For a tasty tea, I drink lemon zinger or lemon ginger.
I have drunk Rooibos (Red Bush) for years and I have AF and have no adverse effects. It is caffeine free and supposed to be anti-inflammatory . It seems impossible to 'stew' it. I take it with a little milk.
