Ectopics after 16 hours of PAF

Earlier I posted about an episode of PAF which has, fortunately, now terminated. Kardia says I am now in sinus rhythm. However, six hours later I am getting lots of strong ectopics particularly when lying down on my back or on either side. Roughly, one ectopic every 10 beats which seems quite a lot. Often, when I get frequent ectopics like this, they lead into PA; whatever happens I don't want that again tonight. Is it normal to have ectopics like this after PAF (I haven't had them before in this way)?

Hi, after an af attack I can get a lot of ectopics for up to two or three weeks. Not always . I just tell myself that it is my heart settling back down.

I usually came out of AF "cleanly" in the past but now get ectopics for some time after. Thankfully, they've gone for the moment at least.

I get a lot of ectopics from time to time and can confirm 1 in 10 is well into the irritating category! My experience with ectopics is try to ignore them, don't worry about them and just hope they go away. Stressing about them can make them worse. Best if you concentrate on something that can take your mind off them if you can.

They've now calmed down. It seems to have been a post-AF stage. Hoping they don't return!

Informative article you cited. To add to the calcium issue: Calcium interferes with the absorption of magnesium, a heart rhythm regulator. A single common, chewable antacid contains 750mg calcium carbonate (!), and who stops at one!! I have switched to Gelusil, which gives the same symptom relief, but with no calcium (200mg magnesium hydroxide), and have started a magnesium supplement (250mg magnesium oxide). I can only offer anecdotal positive results at this point in time, as this is not the type of rigorous testing that the author of your referenced article did.........but, can't hurt!

I usually have ectopics the day after an a-fib episode, then it calms down after. I hope you continue to remain free of them.

Glad they've calmed down now. I find that slowingvmy breathing down to 6 breaths a minute or less seems to see them off. One every 10 beats ought not to be a worry but of course if it's uncomfortable that's a different matter. I get supra ventricular ectopics almost every morning but luckily there's nothing to notice.
