Does anyone get breathlessness after atrial fibrillation? My dad recently had a stroke and was in atrial fibrillation since then he's been quite breathless on small amounts of exercise that's worrying

Especially the fact he would never before tell us if he was unwell and trys to dodge going to the doctors he does have a upcoming appointment for a echocardiogram but not got letter for date as of yet

Yes WC. Being breathless is part of afib for some. I can be breathless bending down to put my shoes on these days. Slow deep breathing can help.

Yes, I'm breathless when in Afib and for several weeks after a cardioversion or ablation (months for latter).

Thanks hospital wasn't very informative on some things he did have atrial fibrillation when taken in hospital and that caused clot/stroke but not really told us if he's still in atrial fibrillation 🤷‍♂️ I'm taking it he is because out of breath

Breathlessness will happen during AF as there will be less freshly oxygenated blood.

Thanks for all the replies I took him to the doctors yesterday he said he was feeling spaced out anyone get that ? Still waiting for his echocardiogram appointment
