Hgv and AFIB
Hi , just interested to know if there... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Hi , just interested to know if there are any lorry drivers that have AFIB that are working and how you cope if you have an episode.
I could be wrong but pretty sure that DVLA retract HGV untill medical report shows that AF is not affecting driving. John will know re PSV which I think is similar.
DVLA have rules for guidance/adherence specifically for HGV and PSV which do not apply to car drivers John.
The law is quite clear on this for car drivers. If AF is distracting or incapacitates then driving is not permitted and you must report to DVLA if it is not controlled. DVLA will advise no doubt but for HGV etc. this means loss of license until such time as medical report states otherwise as far as I read things. AF does not apparently need to be advised to DVLA by doctors unlike some conditions where they are legally bound so to do.
Its all in the DVLA website but worth checking as it has changed from time to time over the years.
Hi, well since ablation it’s been going on it’s own but I guess because it’s there I wondered if it mattered.
