I just had my one year anniversary of my second ablation and have now had a year of no af and the only thing I still take is apixoban.
I do get an ectopic beat every 50 or so beats on average and occasionally have had lots of ectopics where in my mind the afib is “ trying” to get going.
I am not in a frugal or nervous life now, I have wine with my meal most nights and at last I am back to walking 8-10 miles at least 3 times a week and feeling really really good.
Next week a walking holiday in the Lake District with accommodation with a sauna.
I have avoided saunas for the time I had afib and now I’m not sure they are ideal for afib in ablated remission. Obviously the easy answer is “stay away” but I’m trying to resume as many of the things I like doing without being silly or reckless
Anyone else found saunas a problem? Or am I being over cautious ?
Thanks for any inputs on this

The problem for me was associated Dysautomnia and Autoimmune so that temperature extremes would start arrythmias so even some hot tubs were just far too hot. 😥as I used to love a steam room and hot tub to relax.
I think the only way to know for sure is to try it for a few moments but go very carefully and slowly. I would always follow with cold dip/shower, good for vagal tone.
Go carefully I would say, I had a sauna last week for the first time in ages, probably stayed in a few minutes longer than I should. Anyhow that night I had the worst ectopics and my HR was elevated the whole night, even with Bisoprolol. I felt awful the next day as I just didn't sleep. My core body temperature also felt high as well all night, I could only conclude the sauna was the culprit.
I actually passed out in a sauna, never passed out in my life. Fortunately I was in the sauna at a medical spa. Felt unwell for days afterwards. No more saunas for me. I had an ablation in 2016 and am on no meds for heart. Only have occasional issues with certain foods and unrelated medication. Just be wary of saunas. Don’t do them alone.
