Finally got round to reading the notes from my cryo ablation 2 weeks ago. Most i can’t understand. It’s say about 1st 2nd and 3rd operator. 3 diff doctors. Suppose there all helped during the ablation?

Reading ablation procedure report
There is usually a team for an ablation with technicians as well as doctor/s.
Thanks it also says my llpv went into af post ablation but normal rhythm when he froze the next pv ?bit worries now
PV stands for pulmonary vein which is where most of the rogue signals originate in most people. Most people have 4 pulmonary veins but I have 3 because 1 is co-joined.
It’s just an explanation of where he ablatated and normal rhythm returned after he ablated which is good. Nothing to worry about - just worry about resting and recuperating and maintaining normal sinus rhythm.
Best wishes
Thanks again. But why would a pv that’s just been ablated go into Af ? I’d of thought that means it hasn’t worked ?
It’s really hard to get every single spot that sparks the rogue signals every time so knowing which is causing which is not simple. That’s why ablation sometimes needs to be repeated.
That’s why an EP training is so long because their skill level needs to be so high to be competent and why we need to understand it’s a very complicated procedure with many nuances and we need to have patience to allow the EP to assess a few months down the line as to whether or not the ablation has a good outcome. Far too soon to say just now.
Rest and recuperate and avoid overthinking it and make a list of questions you might have for the follow up consult in 12 weeks time.
There were about 8 people in the lab with me 1 EP, a registrar and 6 others monitoring various things. Remember, the PVs are not the only source for rogue signals so a rogue spot may have triggered the AF. They triggered AF with me to see were to zap then, when they were doing their pre-withdrawal checks, AF kicked off again. Don't bank on a 12 week follow up at UHCW. My ablation was April and my follow up isn't until next Feb. Hope all is going well in the meantime.
Thank you. Yes touch wood. No flutters or af episodes so far. But I havnt had a beer or wine yet. Which were my triggers. So I’m kind of scared to test it if you know what I mean?
👍. Caffeine is one of mine. If someone gives me normal coffee, I'm bouncing off the walls within half an hour and takes a while for the heart to settle. I was given a normal bottle of lager on a night out. It was already poured into a glass but I knew when I tasted it, it wasn't 0%. I drank half of it and no adverse reaction. I hadn't drunk alcohol for 5 years following AF diagnosis.
I love coffee. It’s no trigger for me. Sometimes I can drink 5 or 6 beers and I’m ok. But then I have 1 pint and it triggers Af
