New study on alcohol and AF

A new study shows that alcohol increases the likelihood an episode of AF will occur within a few hours, and the more alcohol consumed, the higher the risk. Any alcoholic drink captured by real-time recordings was associated with more than twofold greater odds of an AF event in the subsequent 4 hours and two or more drinks were linked to more than a threefold higher risk.

This is news?!

I found out about alcohol really quickly after my paroxysmal AF first occurred Samazeuilh. Even a teaspoon of the stuff sets it off immediately! Even in a trifle.... 😄

Some people are very sensitive to alcohol, other not so. When I had AF (every 3 days for 24 hours) I went teetotal for 6m and it made absolutely no difference. I suggest this study is just picking up those who are ultra sensitive to alcohol. For the rest of us, we can rest in knowledge that alcohol in moderation is good for you, like most things in life!
