Ablation Recovery
heartrhythmalliance.org/res... should help you understand what to expect.
If it's mild, it's considered to be normal. To do with the phrenic nerve. You should probably mention it to your EP however. From Cleveland Clinic: "Many people feel extra heartbeats, a racing heart, or skipped heartbeats on and off for a few weeks after the procedure. Sometimes, you may feel as if your abnormal heart rhythm is starting, but then the symptoms stop. You may also have mild shortness of breath or fatigue." See: my.clevelandclinic.org/depa...
Hi green.
I still feel pretty rubbish nearly 5 weeks later. I have good and bad days to be fair. I was told that if I felt really breathless then I should get myself checked over by A&E but some breathlessness is to be expected. If it’s accompanied by chest pain and dizziness then may be worth getting checked over but like I say, and Sam says, some breathlessness is too be expected as long as it’s not too bad 👍 good luck with rest of your recovery
A week after my ablation I became really breathless for about a week but subsided after that, quite normal part of the recovery I believe.
In my limited experience (one ablation), 3-1/2 weeks is nothing. There is a three month 'blanking period' for a good reason, anything might happen in the first three months.
Having said that, my third month after is going really well - so far. I've finally returned to 'doing stuff'. Yesterday I washed and polished the roof of my caravan. All the step ladder work left me shattered, but no hint of AF. I still have the four sides to go, but hey, what else would I be doing?
