Oh what a night!

Woken just after 12 by the sensation of my heart beating faster and faster. Not all over the show as normal, just as if it would explode!

After a while it settled back into its usual bag of frogs mode but that was scary. 😱

Has anyone else experienced this?

Di

Yep I get that, mine is SVT which usually only lasts seconds but occasionally it happens for much longer and it's horrible.

Tried deep breathing etc. First episode of that. Almost had to wake OH up! 🙄

That must have been awful Di, especially when you are away from home and contact with your normal medical support network. If your heart rate was fast but regular then it sounds like super ventricular tachycardia and the Valsalver manoeuvre, although not very elegant, is well worth a try should it happen again. If you’re not familiar, check it out on Google and there are also some videos on YouTube. Hope you settle soon…….John

Thanks, knew I could rely on you. Must admit was worried as a lady keeled over in Castleton yesterday and an hour later she was still lying on the pavement! Di

Personally I think it’s the gravy with the chips that does it!

We’re in a motorhome at the moment although did sit in a chair. But caught up on sleep last night, 9 hours. 🤸🏻‍♂️

Ethel103 oh how I know that feeling, just gets me when it starts. Like you I try to distract myself as sleeping is impossible. Trouble is takes nearly 24 hours to slow down, then it jumps about for another day eventually back in NSR!

Afraid to say my last day of NSR was 18th June so presistant now till cardioversion whenever that may be. Thank you for your answer.
