i was prescribed to take Pantoprazole and Famotidine both 40 MG to help with gastro issues. it all started from my heart issues which has now been corrected since my ablation, but i’m afraid of the side effects since i still feel like i’m recovering. has anyone taken them? did it cause palpitations or shortness of breath? my doctors say its fine. but they are “doctors”. thanks.

I had an ablation in June 2019 for atrial flutter and also have a small hiatus hernia along with acid reflux issues. These are helped by similar drug to yours which do stop the acid perfectly.

I feel that my cardiac issues are caused by my gastric issues, rather than the other way round. For instance, just leaning or pulling my body can bring on a fast heart rate and, occasionally, fibrillation.

If your cardiologist told you that your gastric issues were caused by the ablation, then id he or she explain why? I have read that the heat from the catheter can sometimes irritate the oesophagus if it presses against the heart as it does in some people. From what I read, this can sometimes take quite a while to heal.

I take pantoprazole 40mg and famotidine 20mg and have absolutely no side effects from either. I take the pantoprazole when I need it (few days at a time) but the famotidine constantly. I take the pantoprazole in the morning and the famotidine at bedtime. Wishing you luck.
