I insist on always having the make Accord for my Flecainide and Levothyroxine tablets it's printed on my prescription. If I was given a different type I'd take them back to the pharmacist. I guess you hadn't made them aware of the brand you usually have.

Other makes don't appear to keep my heart in rhythm as well.

I’ve been on flecainide 17 years now and like Jean I only have Accord. It’s on computer at pharmacy to only supply that. Very occasionally pharmacy hasn’t been able to get accord (last time about 2 years ago) and I have had Teva and been ok with that if just for a little while. Back in the day I have had Mylan on occasions and don’t remember any adverse reactions. Not heard of the other make. The active ingredient is the same but it’s the fillers (for me) that causes the problems. Hope you get it sorted. x

Just looked at my new supply and they are Milan brand. I haven’t had to use them yet as I use them as PIP so hope they are ok for me.

I think these things affect us all differently. I like being on flecainade and feel protected on it. I started flecainade using the Accord brand.I had a bit of a problem with blurred vision in the mornings, ( since checked out with optician and ok if only for short periods, I don’t drive) tried propafenone which was worse, back to flecainade.

I have been having different ones recently, Mylan was the best I’ve ever had, barely any blurring, next time it was Tillomed, for me this was not good, much more blurring and my reflux and heartburn were awful, I was ahead with my Persciption, this time received alumen? and I actually took the remaining Tillomed out of my daily pill boxes and replaced with the new ones, (I have kept them for emergencies.) early days these seem ok, reflux seems to be easing.

I asked at the pharmacy if I could always have Mylan, they said to arrange with dr and they would try but no guarantees, apparently it is more expensive.

I will always check my Persciption before I leave the pharmacy now and if I get more Tillomed will give them back, if you take them out of the shop I think they have to destroy them even if unopened and they may be perfect for someone else.

Hope you get yours changed and the ones you are happy with before holidays.

Thanks for your reply I agree I think different brands although technically same drugs can affect us all differently. Pharmacy wouldn’t take them back as I had opened both boxes but have agreed to accord so now I feel bad that so many tablets wasted .

The EP who prescribed flec told me if I get an episode I can take one or two extra as pill in pocket after an hour as needed up to a limit of 200mg in a day. I really would not like to do this with one of the brands that affect my eyes and reflux badly. If I can get any more of the Mylan I’ll keep a couple back to use in this way if ever I need to.

Haha yes, I bet we could get into all kinds of bother doing that !! 😂 Not to be thought of!! I’ve had to hand in tablets after changes to scripts and the waste is upsetting.
