I'm having my second ablation at Barts Hospital on the 16th of September. I literally can't believe how awful my afib has been since it was decided I would have the second ablation.
I honestly believe its getting plenty of attacks in before its hopefully banished 😂😂
I would like to ask all you lovely people in this forum, if you have any advice for me prior and after the ablation. Any advice at all would be so welcome and of course any reassurance you could offer me would be gratefully recieved 💖
Thanking you so much in advance and wishing you all well.

Hello Jacky, I just had a look at your history and I see your first ablation was a cryoablation. You will probably be aware that it’s not unusual to need a second because the inflated balloon used doesn’t always scar all the tissue around the pulmonary veins particularly if the tissue is not fairly smooth. I had a second ablation 2 years after my cryoablation and although I have had a few episodes since, which may have due to an overactive thyroid, I have been significantly better. So fingers crossed for you, you are in very good hands, the team at Barts have an excellent reputation…….
The waiting was the worst for me so take something to distract - I like my audio books & suduko. Take in as little as possible as you get moved around - leave all precious rings & stuff at home so take only essentials. Sports water bottle is useful in recovery.
Rest & recouperation after so prepare as much as possible prior so you don’t need to do anything much for first few weeks.
