Two weeks ago I got Norovirus, and the vomiting was a story in itself. At the same time it triggered my AFIB, blood pressure plummeted and I was very fatigued, dizzy and unable to do much.
These episodes usually happen about every 3 months and have always lasted 3 days. This time it is 2 weeks now which has really disheartened me.
I stopped my BP tablets and blood pressure has come up. I also take Sotalol twice a day and pulse is in normal range but its just the rhythm that seems a problem. No regular beats.
Never been like this before, any suggestions to what I can do to help it normalise.

Make sure you are well hydrated. Take some salt with your water or one of the re -hydration sachets and try to relax. Slow deep breathing can also help.
Sorry to hear that your PAF has got worse. Is the 2 weeks you mentioned the time between episodes or the duration of the current one? If the former then it may be worth contacting GP/consultant to advise them of change. If later then you are now in realms of permanent AF and GP/consultant must review your treatment.
Vomiting affects and can damage the vagus nerve. Yoga, stretching, daily exercise, breathing, etc. can help heal it. But there is some new research (last few yrs) on how stimulation of the vagus nerve can lessen the number of AF episodes. Search on "vagus nerve stimulation for atrial fib" and some studies will come up. I am purchasing one of the vagal stim kits and will try this for my paroxysmal afib that happens almost weekly. In one of the studies, patients clipped a device onto the ear lobe for 1 hr per day, and it lessened the number of attacks by 85%, if I recall correctly. This might be worth looking into and I will post again if I learn more.
