My husband is 8 weeks post NSTEMI heart attack which brought on AFib, he has had 3 episodes of AF since two of which happened as he was sleeping and woke him. He never had AF before the heart attack. He now twitches and jerks in his sleep several times a week, he never used to before the heart attack, and we wondered if this was a sign of his heart going into AF as he sleeps. Thank you in advance for any advice.

I twitch, run and thrash about sometimes but nothing to do with AF.
Hi TAstar, I personally don’t think it’s anything to do with AFIB, but I’m not medically trained so you may be better asking a GP etc. Iv had AFIB diagnosed 8 years ago and I twitched and jumped around before diagnosis, and still do now. Hope this helps.
Sleep Apnoea is a trigger for AF and you can twitch when having an episode, does your husband hold his breath whilst asleep and then twitch before he starts breathing again? if he does then get it checked out...
