Mexilitine Experience

Hello Everyone,

Was recently placed on the drug Mexilitine (150 mg, twice a day). Please can anyone kindly share their experiences with me.

Never heard of this drug used here in UK so doubtful you will get much response and I see you haev asked this question in other forums with similar lack of answers.

Hi,I`ve been on this for 18months. It is actually only supplied from the hospital in my case as I believe it is unlicenced in this country. I`m on it because I kept going into VT and VT ablation was not an option. Normally you go into hospital for a dew days when starting it to find what dose suits you. Higher levels +500/day did not suit me and gradually down to 100 bi daily. It has worked for me combined with bisopropol. So far Ok . Fee lfree to ask more if you like.

Thank you msg1. Yes, I was prescribed this for VT which I get frequently. Now they have me on a mix of Mexititene, amioderone, and meteoprolol. So far so good and I hope it keeps working. You be well and I wish the best for your good self!!!!

I took drug when it was experimental in the US, like 37 years ago. I got it directly from my cardiologist and I was 29 years old. I had extreme PVCs, the worst he had seen in a Young adult. I did not have any problems with the drug and it corrected my PVCs, but I became pregnant and was no taken off the drug. I altered my diet, got more rest, stop working two jobs and controlled the PVCs after the pregnancy

Thank you Spoiler. I will take your suggestion and get more rest. I think my biggest downfall would be the lack of rest. I wish you the best!!
