I'm struggling with dizziness and a heavy feeling in my chest, my resting HR is around 65 but just walking the kids to school today felt so dizzy/ lightheaded and I could feel my pulse racing. I'm not pushing myself just walking normally but I'm freaking out as on weds (early hours I passed out) went to gp on Thursday and said about the fainting (has happened before but always had a trigger) went and had a ECG and it came bk abnormal. The gp has told me no driving and to take it easy until I see a cardiologist. I don't know exactly what my ecg said but the nurse said it still showed the same issues as my previous one (paramedics came out to me during covid) didn't have it investigated as covid was rife at that point. On the paramedic ECG it said a few things, partially blocked right bundle, possible left atrial enlargement and moderate ST depression.

I've got 3 small children and I'm supposed to be starting a new job and I'm freaking out a bit I'm only 34. Thanks all.

I sympathise with your worry but you have come to the forum dedicated to Atrial Fibrillation which as a common arrhythmia but which may not be applicable to your situation although some members here may have right bundle branch block as well. Have you also tried British Heart Foundation forum here in healthunlocked? .

Hi yes I have posted on the BHF forum but only had one reply.

Sorry you are having a hard time, very scary for you. Have you tried ringing the nurses at the BHF. I hear they are very good. They may be able to give you some pointers, its worth a call.

I know its expensive when you have children to provide for but could you afford to see a cardiologist privately in the first instance. That way you could get to see someone quickly. They could treat you on the nhs thereafter but at least it gets you in front of a specialist medical professional quickly. Its worth considering.

Good luck, let us know how you get on.

Thanks for your reply, I unfortunately cannot afford to go private so will have to wait annoyingly. I will definitely give the BHF a call it definitely won't hurt. I hope that if it was serious then I shouldn't have to wait too long for a referral. But I also know it could be a while..... Thanks again

Aww this is a tough situation you find yourself in. I would speak to your GP about your concerns. GPs have the ability to ask for a referral to be fast tracked. Your GP may have already done this but its worth asking. Tell your GP you are worried by your deterioration and with young children and a new job it is really stressing you. He / she may contact the cardiology department and ask for advice on you via telephone. My GP did this several tines whilst I was waiting for an appointment. Also keep a log of symptoms, times and dates.....they can hold potential clues amd gives a picture of whats happening to you and the frequency. Ringing 111 its likely they will send you to a&e but cardiology may not get involved......they didnt with me but you never do know!! Sending you the biggest of hugs xx

Am sorry you are going through this . If I were you if you faint, get worrying symptoms ring 111 and hopefully they will send you to a&e if it is serious you could be admitted from there

Bless you, I can understand your worry. I'm sure a cardiologist would ask to see you asap if he can see from your ECG that something is seriously wrong. Try not to worry, I know that's hard, but worry only makes our heart conditions worse. It's a good idea of Peony's re calling the 111 no. if you feel that way again.

Please let us know how you get on.

Sending you a big healing hug.

As Jean says, if there is something drastic wrong they will be in touch soon. I'll add that worrying can bring on symptoms of panic attacks which can feel exactly the same as heart problems. Try to think positive and try to be calm but if it gets worse do call 111. It's so difficult when you are responsible for a family, but they want you to be well and if you need help, you must get it. Lots of love, Helen.

I was exactly the same and twi separate cardiologists suggested it was all in my head because their 20 minutes of ECG. Didn’t pick anything up. After I started passing out sitting down I finally got referred for a 7 day holter (mobile ECG). They discovered I had SVT (supra ventricular tachycardia). One ablation later and I haven’t passed out once in 5 years. So I suggest you ask for a holter 7 day ECG and do whatever it is that sets you off, then it will recorded in black and white and you can ask to see an EP.

Thank you, this is very helpful. I rang my gp today (spoke to a different gp) to ask about my symptoms and she totally dismissed me and just said if chest pain gets worse go A&E 🙄 she was very rude and not what I needed to hear, was very unhelpful. I just need a appointment for this referral then I can hopefully get some answers. What is ablation? Very new to all this sorry.

OK, so you need to find the fact sheets on this webpage on arrhythmia and ablation. Ablation is a procedure using a catheter to knock out the cells in the heart that are mis firing

Good advice in previous posts, especially about having a 24/7 monitor fitted. In the interim there may be someone you can borrow one from so you can give them some hard before/after data. My heart has been in irregular rhythm five months now which most people read as sinus rhythm on the ECG. It comes with tachycardia, very high pulse rate and yo-yoing bp which can make me feel as if I am about to pass out, occasional chest heaviness and between my shoulder blades and extreme exhaustion and I have been referred for an ablation. I can only imagine the anxiety this must cause you with three little ones to care for and it is very hard to resist that anxiety but focusing on other things can help and is necessary as anxiety does make it worse. Does the heaviness come on after mild exertion and go off after rest or sleep? Are there any other triggers eg meals? An ultrasound can be done at the hospital which would show if there was an enlarged atria or not and a full scan if need be. Hospital ECGs are also far more sensitive than GP ones and reveal a lot more about the causes. I shall pray you get seen by cardiologists quickly and you receive the reassurance and treatment you need so you can look after your family.

My ecg with the paramedics was tachycardic I don't know about the one on Thursday. The heaviness comes and goes, woke up with it this morning and it went off this afternoon but now is bk again and more painful than this morning, I have not long eaten so maybe that is a trigger 🤷‍♀️. The dizziness /light-headedness comes after exertion it's still there throughout the day but worse after me doing something. I'm hoping someone will ring with an appointment soon I'm struggling to keep on top of everything, the kids can be very tiresome at the moment especially when littlest is having the terrible two's 😩. Thank you for your reply.
