Ibuprofen and Bisoprolol

Does anyone know why ibuprofen and Bisoprolol are not compatible?

I've also read that Turmeric and Ginger are good alternatives as they have anti inflammatory properties and also that Turmeric has anti clotting properties, does anyone have any experience or knowledge of these please?...Cheers Sam

Forget Ibuprofen if you have any arrhythmia especially AF as it has been shown to actually be a cause of AF. It really is a never touch thing. regardless of any drug interactions.

YEP.....I can attest to that. I made that mistake on a trip before I knew I had afib. Had drank a margarita after being on the beach all day in the heat...... then was having chest discomfort with what I thgt was pvc’s so I took Advil and got in a tub of warm water to try to relax. I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital, my heart went crazy with I had no idea what kind of beats at the time, but I had extreme chest discomfort for hours and hours. I never touch ANY drug now regardless. My mother also landed in ICU after taking advil with her afib.

Tumeric and ginger are fine taken as food or drink but avoid supplements for several reasons, especially if you take anti-coagulants as they may increase the efficacy of the anticoagulants, increasing your risks of bleeds.

If you don't take an anticoagulant why would you avoid them?

I just wrote a long reply and lost it but basically this is the headline from a Which report

Revealed: vitamin supplements that don’t contain what they say We've found supplements with 40% less than advertised key vitamins

Easy to overdose - been 1 death attributed to bleeds from Curcumin - active anti-inflammatory ingredient - that was without taking anticoagulants.

As soon as you process foods the body stops treating and absorbing like foods - as we know from pharmaceuticals.

Why not just eat as food - they are both delicious and versatile and make delicious recipes, teas and drinks - then there is no danger.

Can only comment for myself. I have prescribed Apixaban for Aprox afib. Been on it 3 years to mo known I'll effects.I have also taken from an earlier time my own remedy of Tumeric Golden Milk. Separately root Ginger and yes raw Garlic (by product of the latter being best contraceptive known to man). All to no known detrimental side effects. I take the Ginger and Turmeric to try and ward off the effect of years of sports and concomitant injuries. Garlic to reduce hypertension. Which I believe in my case is genetic as I'm certainly not overweight nor inactive and eat mostlymplant based Mediterranean diet.

I am not going to waken up the Afib Gods or should that be Devils to my case by stating how long since an attack.

I can't really help with your question but I've been warned off Ibuprofen tablets because I take Ramipril which is an ACE inhibitor. My GP said that Ibuprofen gel was fine though?!!!I might see if Dr. Google has an answer!!! xxx

I was told not to overdo the gel too.

Yea I occasionally use it but if you are male and over 65 they take you off the diclofenac tablets because of the likelihood of heart problems. It was the only medication that worked for me but took me off it and now of course NSAIDS as diclofenac is is a no no with AF.

Blimey! So paracetamol is the only choice for you. Our GP has decided injections might be the way forward for my intense arthritic pain. I can't have codeine as I hallucinate!! You have to smile or you'd have a breakdown! All the very best. Jan xxx
