This might be helpful for those who want to know why they don't feel better weeks or months after ablation. I found it very helpful and was glad I read it pre my first ablation.

That was very interesting. Thank you for posting it. I had read, but have now lost the link to, a study that looked at people's experience over a two-year period following ablation. I recall reading that after the first year, most people had suffered various problems, including breakthrough heart rhythm problems, but that at two years most were free of symptoms.

Thank you for that and have just read it. It was very interesting but sadly it didn't relate to me as this was my 2nd ablation and study was only done on 1st ablations. X

Didn't? I didn't spot that details! I should imagine second takes even longer as they do more work. Or, at least, they did for me, and it's definitely taking longer!!

Thank you for posting the link. It was very interesting and would have been most useful to read before my ablation. I found that the information provided to me beforehand totally failed in my case to structure my expectations for recovery. Even though the sample size from the study is small, it certainly resonated. I would like to read about other and more recent studies if anyone has any links.

Yes, because it is scary when you are given the idea that you will be fine in a few months and in reality you are still struggling six months later, isn't it.When I had a review 4.5 months after my first ablation the E P seemed amazed I was still suffering fatigue and still not back to normal life, in my case, exercising and physical work! Luckily, I knew from that study that it was normal!
