I am no medic but I suggest the problems worsen over a few years and that MAY be why the meds. cease to be as efficient. That has happened in my own case anyway. When my meds were changed my health improved a lot.

Agree with 10gingercats but I have to say I’m not familiar with Esporatin and Google doesn’t seem to know about it either. I know it sounds scary but AF tends to be progressive over time so it’s quite normal for doses and medication to change. That said, when and if it becomes permanent, often heart rates tend to be more stable.....

Lots of members on this forum have taken the same meds for many years and are still doing well, so please don't worry.

My sister had AF attacks, didn't go to the docs or take any pills . It just disappeared!

Enjoy your life.

Esporatin? That's a new one on me. I have heard that some meds may become less effective as the years roll on or it may simply be that symptoms worsen anyhow.

It's quite common for meds to stop working; however, some people are lucky and get years of med relief. Read the book THE AFIB CURE by EP John Day ..... he covers the med issues very well. He gives tips to make the meds more effective.

Hi olqp, I notice from your profile that you rarely respond or acknowledge the replies you receive to your posts which is, of course, entirely up to you. Bearing in mind no one appears to be aware of medication known as Epsoratin, it might enable us to help you more if you could confirm the medication you are currently taking with your anticoagulant. Thanks......

Yes, but that’s nothing to worry about if you aren’t symptomatic and that certainly doesn’t happen with anticoagulants which is first line treatment.

I also never heard of epsoratin or can find mention of it anywhere.

I was on flecainide for years, and they eventually became less effective. I was put on another similar medication that again worked well for years.

Anticoagulants don’t stop working over time. The other one sounds like a statin. Is it a misspelling??
