I feel awful still and I am putting a lot down to the beta blockers, my Drs answer is to persevere a bit longer and to increase my stomach medications. I'm not too happy but seems I have no choice, but if the beta blocker is exacerbating stomach issues which in turn has set off palpitations a couple of times am I just chasing my tail or will it resolve given more time. Apparently after having pacemaker fitted I should have been able to go back to work after 2 weeks, this was 9 weeks ago and I still can't get through a day without falling asleep, feeling lightheaded/sick, and generally feeling ill. Will i ever feel well again ? Checks I've had for pacemaker, afib, high blood pressure, heart rate are all fine so it would seem that isn't causing any of this. Sorry bit of a rant, really fed up.

Hmm, I've not a lover of taking pills either! Surely the answer would be to reduce your beta blockers slightly and let your body get used to them first. Which ones are you taking and what dose? As for those acid reducing pills, well the side effects are just awful, make sure you only take those short term.
Really feel for you. Might your GP be more understanding? It's as though no one in the medical profession cares how we suffer! Really feel for you.

Thank you, I would have thought reducing the beta blockers would make more sense but he said persevere to see if they go away , I did ask how long for because I don't feel heard, I too aren't keen on increasing stomach meds especially as I've just read on the beta blocker leaflet to take care when using with this particular beta blocker
Which and what strength beta blocker are you on? It does sometimes take a while for the body to get used to them. I'm glad I didn't give up on taking Flecainide when I was prescribed them, though I thought about it, read the side effects and thought I had them all. Since my body getting used to it, it's been a lifesaver and the only medication that's ever done what it should - help my heart rate.
