Hi all, i wrote recently about how frustrating a ongoing AF is becoming. It has continued for 3days. This is 2 weeks after an ablation which seemed to be going ok. Then last week, i lost a close family relative, stress has hit me and now 3days of AF. I have gone back onto Flecainide and that has kept the HR down to 100 generally but when and how can this get back to normal?

Ongoing AF
Hi, was this your first ablation? Don’t want to be a misery but , like others , I needed 2 to sort my afib. But the big thing is that you really don’t know until at least three months after if the procedure has worked. Certainly a bereavement will make any recovery more difficult. I would definitely contact the hospital/ arrhythmia nurse and get their advice. Everyone is different but they may suggest a cardioinversion to reset your ticker.
Whatever the situation I’m sure it will get resolved

This factsheet should help you with the recovery process,.....

If the AF continues, suggest you contact your hospital and let them know......
Thanks flapjack. That's a big help
I just had 3rd AFIB ablation on OCT 23.
Yes ... they said there is a 90-Day period of instability. However, my world-class EP said if sustained AFIB came back for more than a day ... then, he wanted me to go in and get cardioverted.
I read a few posts here ... where that happened. And a couple of the posters said their heart settled down after cardioconverson .... and never did return to full-blown AFIB. I hope you get the same result .......
