I live in the US. I am scheduled for my third ablation next month. My cardiologist has ordered a CT scan of my heart prior to the ablation. I didn’t have this test prior to my first two ablations. I would prefer to avoid the radiation exposure. Is this test necessary ? Does it improve outcomes?

It enables the EP to superimpose the images of your heart from the CT scan on the screen when he does the ablation to better enable him/her to navigate. Compared to the exposure during ablation I would say that the CT scan is negligible.
