For me Metoprolol is a very powerful drug. I take 1 x 12.5mg twice daily. I would speak to your cardiologist or GP and say how you are feeling, please don't put up with feeling this way.
You probably need repacing until they get our rate just right, I am paced at 60 rpm plus adjustment or change of drugs. It takes a while to become best regulated so take these to your cardio as soon as possible to get sorted out,
Thanks for your message l think l need to understand better how the P M works have not being given any information not really sure what to ask l was originally told l would be able to come of my meds apart fromy blood thinner but still on 50 twice a day of Metoprolol hopefully will get there eventually, Thanks
They should have given you a leaflet when your P/M was fitted but you can research the 'workings' of a P/M on line, there are different types depending on your need, for example I have a two lead Medtronic which I could research on line. If you haven't received any information on yours then ring your cardio's secretary and ask for information to help you better understand what you have had implanted. I still take drugs to stop my heart going into A/F, to keep the heart rate low, the P/M in turn keeps that rate going at 60 beats per minute or thereabouts. I had my P/M fitted because after ablation everything went wrong and my heart rate would plummet so this little technical wonder keeps me more or less constant at 60 bpm and life is now so much better.
