Nonsense. I was 74 when I had my fourth and may still be offered another and 76 soon. I have heard of people 80 + as well. I presume you are thinking UK and NHS? By the way, cardiologhist or Electrophysiologist? We all know the first are anti in some cases as the can't do them , the old not invented here syndrome I fear.

My husband was offered ablation at 85.

There may be restrictions due to other reasons but not age. I’m 74 and was on the list for an ablation but due to improvements (🤞) its on hold......

Physalis had an ablation recently and she is 84. She may have a helpful comment 💜

Yes, I was 83, 84 the next day. I think one of my grandsons who works in a hospice said he thought I wouldn't get it because of my age.

It went fine.

I am 80 and My EP says I can have one His guide is up to 80. Beyond, depending on general health. I am happy to say he says I am a “ young 80”. But I am aware each year means more risk of issues and less able to bounce back. Am hoping to avoid ablation.

My EP said they have done several people in their 90's. However ... he, Dr. Natale, is one of the best EP's in the world, so that might make a difference.

I am 77 and on the list for ablation AF and bowel and bladder problems are my only conditions - the bowel and bladder were the cause of or caused by successfully treated prostate cancer back in 2016. I am fit and exercise each day - going to the gym when able to so maybe that goes into the equation as well? I do remember an age being mentioned by someone of 84 some time ago but that could have been by the cardiology team as when I ask my EP he always says no of course you can have this or that - such as cardio team said I couldn't have another CV after the third one - thankfully I am still in NSR after that one last February but I asked the EP when I had two ablations cancelled because of Covid and he said no of course you can have another CV as many as you like! Funny because they are supposed to be on the same team but there you go.

Find a different cardiologist - preferably an Electrophysiologist (EP).
