People don't care and selfish some even think there isn't a virus

Yes, I think that quite soon they will just have to decide who to treat and who to let die.

What shocks me the most is that hardly any of these people are wearing masks given that they are in close proximity. Mask discipline in the UK seems to be very poor compared to European countries. No commercial sites here will let people in who are not wearing masks. There are notices on all premises that masks are obligatory and this is enforced. Even in the summer when there was hardly any virus circulation you could not get up from your restaurant table to go to the loo without donning your mask and if you forgot you were quickly reminded by staff. Nearly everybody in towns wears masks outdoors and in many cities they are obligatory. Hanging about so close to other people even outside is risky behaviour . I just don't understand the mentality of these people.

Wife works in a supermarket, whole families coming in together to shop, need stricter lockdown and more control on entry, some shops putting g profit before health cos they worried about driving customers away

Yes, it used to be only one person allowed in to do the shopping.

One of my granddaughters is a key worker and has had the vaccine, her brother who is a police officer has not, nor has my son-in-law who works for the council and has to go out to work. I think they need to get on with vaccinating people who are mixing with the public every day. With a bit of luck these people who are vulnerable and can go on to become super-spreaders will soon be included.

I've been vaccinated but I never go out these days, like a lot of older people.

So annoying isn't it? I don't know if people realise that we are unlikely to get the vaccine out to everyone until the second half of this year. It has hardened my resolve to stay home wherever possible. I have been to the pharmacy this week as had a rash and they told me to call Doc so now have to go and collect prescription as have been diagnosed with veinous exema (spelling?) other than that and our early morning walks where we meet no one I will not be going out - again. My Aunt has her 80th Birthday Party booked for March - it should have been last November but of course in 2nd lockdown then and I have been toying with the idea of telling her I won't be going - its a long drive and we would have to spend the night in a premier inn so its just not worth the risk even if by some miracle we are out of lockdown and I have had my two vaccinations by then I doubt my wife will have and neither will most of the people attending so not willing to take the risk. I know it is hard to stay in all the time - though freezing weather and now rain have helped a little though we never get bored as plenty things to do - we could do with lockdown lasting a lot longer to get all the jobs done we want to - though of course sometimes you can't get the things you need to do the jobs. We all would like to be somewhere else and visit relatives and so on but really why take risks. Ah makes my blood boil - hope it doesn't bring on my AF lol.

I was pleased to see just now in the Telegraph that Matt Hancock thinks that police, shopworkers and teachers should be prioritised.

If there was collective responsibility and all shops made masks mandatory and enforced it then these irresponsible maskless people would have nowhere to go to shop. They could either buckle down to mask wearing ( which for a trip to the shops is not that onerous) or order online. Even before masks became mandatory here nearly everybody in supermarkets wore them and the few who didn't ( mainly men - pretty stupid as in the first wave they were dying much more than women) got dirty looks.

I agree that people should not be gathering together outdoors without social distancing. I also agree that people should not be shopping with their whole family in tow or without masks. However, I do get annoyed that a lot of the media is sensationalizing anything to do with possible Covid 19 breaches - often using dubious photography ie. the photographer is using a long telephoto lens which compresses the view making people appear to be more packed together than in reality they are (you can usually tell by the narrow field of sharp focus). Our mainstream media have become as 'click baity' as the internet which distorts any issue they are interested in and has a negative impact upon society - sadly I now include the BBC in this as well.😩
