I have always been OK with taking anti-coagulants, until Saturday that is. A few years ago I had what I thought was an ear infection. Turned out to be MRSA. Since then I have regular 3 monthly check up`s and ear suctioning as I have something called cholestoma. (Excuse spelling). Saturday I went to the hospital after a year, to have my ear cleaned. What should have been straight forward, turned into a mini nightmare for me. The doctor somehow managed to nick my ear drum, and the fun started. It took over 24 hours for the bleeding to finally stop. I have to go back to have it cleaned all again. To say that I am nervous is an understatement. lol. Thanks for `listening` to me rant. xxx

What a nightmare for you. Is your fear now that the bleed will start again? I wonder if you would be allowed to reduce your dose of anticoagulant beforehand?

It is very upsetting when those things happen as you can lose confidence, let’s hope you do get a more dexterous doctor this time and no mishaps.
