AFIB AND flutter
That was what I had , the drugs ( flecainide and bisoprolol) I took for the afib had good effect on the afib but sadly ( using my Kardia to check) low effect together on flutter.
I had an ablation in July that took most of my afib away but I got more and longer flutter episodes these seemed best controlled by digoxin and tildiem, but after two weeks the tildiem gave me a full body itchy drug rash, so I went back to bisoprolol and digoxin,
In all truth they were ok but my energy levels were low and I got some symptoms of heart failure ( bloated water retention and real fatigue)
A second ablation just under 4 weeks ago put me into sinus rhythm.... so far and I’m feeling great
Great to have a small pill box! At present just on anticoagulant ( apixoban)
My EP indicated he expected an ablation for flutter to be more successful and I am hoping against hope he was right ..... so far so good

Yes I have both. I take bisoprolol to keep the rate in check ( not so effective f or flutter)and flecanide for AFib ( usually keeps it in rein)Ablation is the best bet for flutter with 95% success rate.
Hope this helps x
I have both, diagnosed in July with 2 visits to A & E. I was put on flecainide and bisoprolol, but didn't work for me and I still had episodes. Changed consultant and now on sotolol and apixaban, but had episode on that. I just can't find what triggers mine but the episodes are coming every weekend and last a full 24 hrs before reverting to NSR. It is draining me so I am going to go on the waiting list for ablation
