Heart failure or side affects
Since this forum is mainly for people with atrial fibrillation you may have more joy with British Heart Foundation Healthunlocked .
Hello Lian π I am not a doctor so won't comment on your medication best discuss that with your doctor but guess that anxiety could do you more harm than mild heart failure.
When I asked a consultant if my regular episodes of symptomatic AF would lead to hear failure he replied ' Heart failure is part of the aging process so we all have a degree of heart failure as we age'
My advice to you would be learn relaxation techniques and how to be calm and be kind to your heart by eating healthily, getting plenty of sleep and regular exercise and avoid stress, alcohol and smoking.
Wishing you well π
Hi. I was on a very low dose of bisoprolol and had no noticeable side effects. X
Thank you for your reply ..take care π x
Keep in mind that the phrase "heart failure" is - in my view - very badly chosen because it is simply bound to lead to anxiety. As a fellow sufferer from anxiety, I think a lot of your problems can be put down to that. "Heart failure" means that the amount of oxygenated blood your heart if pumping to your is less than it should be. This can be for many reasons, and it is this that your cardiologist ought to have explained to you.
A beta blocker, such as bisoprolol, can cause many side effects in some people, whereas many hardly know they are taking it. Again - some of this is very likely to be anxiety related.
So what can you do to feel better each day? Firstly, please speak to your GP at least, if not to your heart doctor. Explain your feelings and ask for a better explanation of this "heart failure". Secondly, buy a book or download an app to help you relax. It isn't easy and it isn't perfect but it is a step away from feeling terrible.

Hi Lianbr, I had similar symptoms as per yourself and I found that a change to Nebivolol 5mg helped me, less breathlessness as well as a big improvement in the feeling of anxiety , have a word with your GP who should be able to help. Best of luck Palmer
