Are there any areas in the UK where Ablations are still being performed? Everything seems to have stopped in the Midlands.

Friend of mine had an ablation in Southampton on Friday. I guess it depends on Covid situation

My EP is at Southampton.

I contacted my Arrhythmia Nurse regarding my recent changes in rhythm and she talked to my EP who is arranging for me to go to clinic.

I have nothing but good words to say about Southampton General.

I was offered an ablation last year at UHSM hospital Wythenshawe ( Manchester) by Dr Ian Temple cardio-consultant. I believe all departments are up and running.

Best wishes, Cat...

I think Leicester Glenfield hospital is back to near normal?

Yes, I was due to have an ablation at Glenfield hospital early this month. Shame they never sent me a letter to tell me about my appointment!

Oh dear. That’s terrible. Bad luck. Mind you, knowing the struggles they face, anything is possible during these awful times. And it seems it might well be about to take a turn for the worse.

Well they were on here in South West Wales nearly had mine last Tuesday but on the Thursday there was a Covid outbreak in the hospital with a couple of people in the sectioned off cardio unit with it too so all cancelled. As I am in NSR and have been since my last cardioversion in February I was given the option of either going in as soon as possible or waiting longer. I chose to wait longer and let people who were worse off than me take the places when the Hospital was clear again and told my EP I would call him if there was any change in my AF. Its a shame because originally was called in early September to go in but was away at the time visiting my sister who lost her husband at Easter when, of course, we couldn't travel all the way to Hampshire to visit her - well probably could have if I was a certain government advisor.

I think most hospitals are managing to keep some semblance of normalcy going and doing some of their usual work but it obviously takes longer due to covid restrictions and deep cleaning etc,

I have been waiting since March and am told it could be earliest next April. That's private!
