Today’s EP Appointment

I saw my EP today for a check up prior to Thursday’s ankle surgery. He gave me the all clear - my heart has been behaving itself and my BP is perfect. I’m to increase my beta blocker from Wednesday and keep on the higher dose for a few weeks until my body is less stressed. And I’m now off anticoagulants until after the surgery. Fingers crossed my heart keeps behaving 🤞🏻

Funnily enough my phone appointment with my EP was this morning but he was half and hour early and I thought it was somebody else so we wasted a minute or two working out who we were. Two minutes later he was gone. Supposed to arrange a monitor that he spoke about two months ago. He ho here we go again.

Glad your was better Kaz.

That’s a bit of a worry Bob. As well as talking about my heart and health we had a big discussion about the latest research in Corona Virus vaccines, my business and my husband (EP always asks after him). I was in his office for ages 😉

I don't want to sound thick, but what's an EP?

Electrophysiologist - a cardiologist with specialised training in the electrics of the heart. Before all my heart dramas I’d never heard of an electrophysiologist either 😉

Thanks Kaz, I did look up EP in my medical acronyms finder but it wasn't in there either, thanks for the explanation....I'm sure I wasn't the only one who didn't know.

Only a few days and it will be over (the op at least). Having just had some intense physiotherapy on my wrist to strengthen it and reduce swelling and stiffness, I am aware you know the hard work on your ankle and foot starts afterwards - will be thinking of you then too xx

Thanks Irene. By my timeline I’ll get out of the moon boot New Year’s Eve. Then the physio and rehab can begin. Looking forward to walking again in 2021. Hope your wrist continues to heal. Xx
