On AF with low Heart beats
What was your heart rate when they were up and what has it gone down to?
Hi queseyo
Yes a lot of us have experienced what you mention. What did your heart rate go up to when in AF and what is it now? Did you see a doctor when your rate was high?
What other AF meds are you taking?
Jean
Some of us have Bradycardia Atrial Fibrillation - and get low pulse rate without medication - mine was getting down to 35 at night, with an SP02 of 75! They fixed it with three cardioversions, two catheter ablations and two pacemakers. When I was young, and when I was an endurance athlete, a pulse rate of 30 was OK.
I’ve been on Sotalol for seven years and take 80 mg twice a day I do experience AF when my pulse goes from a normal 60 up 120-140 by blood pressure goes from 120/60 to 180/140 and I get chest discomfort (A bit of angina ?)I usually take and extra 40 mg of Sotalol plus my GKN spray and I do various vagal exercises usually after about 1-2 hours things just return to normal pulse back to 60 BP normal
But I feel wrecked then for a couple of days with a sore chest my cardiologist is aware of this over the past 3 years I’ve done 999 ended up in
A and E a couple of times only for it to resolve itself so I stick it out at home
I’m sure mine is largely due to stress as I care for my wife who needs end of life care as she has advanced dementia I’m also aware rich and spicy foods seem to have a bearing so now I avoid such food in the evening but I cannot avoid stress
Plus I’ve never had a problem with Sotalol I’m 77 very fit had a heart attack 7 years ago and a stent implant
