Does anyone know if the Omron HEM-7361T is as effective at detecting Afib?
Thank you

Kardia is the gold standard.
And don't forget the Apple Watch series 4 and 5!
Ordinary blood pressure monitors are hopeless with high heart rates.
I have an omron. When in NSR it is very accurate with BP and heart rate. It does have an indicator for irregular heart beat but is not specific. Also when in AF Not accurate for BP and HR. You need a Kardia to be specific.
Sorry to trouble you Mrsvemb ...
Does the kardia show clearly when it is AF or do we need a doctor to read the ECG?
Thank you
Can't remember the name of my BP monitor, Watch Home BP or something. Will accurately record when in AF. Have proved this a number of times when I have been in AF. Endorsed by NICE for recording AF events.
Have also had it record an AF event when not having symptoms. I tend to be asymptomatic.
Thank you
We also have this monitor. You can also download the readings which is good for sending to the GP. At approx £100 it's not cheap but it is simple to understand. The Kardia looks impressive but would you know how to interpret an ECG trace?
Hi ling I have an Omron purely for measuring BP, I like the fact that my KARDIA enables me to get a clear analysis of any 'unclassified ' reading that is causing me concern within 24 hours for just £5 (nothing if you subscribe)
With a simple 1byone hand held ECG, price about euro 55 on Amazon, It gives you an ECG trace up to 30 sec. It has been very very useful for me for distinguishing true AF from crowded ectopics. You can look at the tracing on your phone or your computer. It gives you a pdf you can send to your doctor, assuming he is interested. It gives you the R peak very clearly, the T with some approximation and the P sometimes. This is enough to calculate HR.
Hi ling.
I have the Omron 3 which has always caught when I was in afib. I also have a finger pulse monitor which I would recommend as it shows your heart rate going up and down when in afib. They are both not very expensive and are worth their weight in gold. I have had an ablation and no longer get af but my younger brother has now started with afib and he is very pleased that they are catching his afib.
All the best for the future.
Stay safe.
Regards Flyer.
Hello again ling
Sorry it is the Omron M3 intellisense automatic blood pressure monitor and it is clinically validated, so I know it is good.
It just tells you that your heart is irregular when in af. It shows a heart type symbol when your heart is irregular.
It has never failed me and the finger pulse monitor shows the heart rate going up and down. My brother has just been taken to hospital with af which he checked with them both. We are awaiting the outcome.
Regards Flyer.
Thank you.
Has your brother's AF been diagnosed?
How is he doing?
Hi king,
Yes he has been diagnosed with af, just within the last week. He has been in hospital 3 times now in 6 days. They sent him out at 1.am this morning as they could not get him a bed and I drove 50 miles to pick him up and take him home.
My wife and I got to bed at 5 am this morning. He has been suffering with af for 2 years and has thought it was his diabetes as he is type 2 diabetic.
Hopefully he will get things done quickly now. I live in the UK and our NHS is overstretched at the moment.
Hope you get yourself sorted out.
Regards Flyer.
My Omron will say I am in arrhythmia but doesn’t identify which kind. Kardia is easy to send to your doctor,
Thank you.
Yes, some Omron monitors have the irregular heart beat detection function. But not all irregular heart beat is AF, i think?
The Omron HEM-7361T apparently can specifically detect AF. If that's really the case, it would be pretty awesome.
Does the Kardia work the same whether in the West or East? I am in Asia.
I don’t know as I am in the US. Maybe Kardia would answer that question if you contacted the, good luck and stay safe
Thank you.
Sorry to trouble ... if I may ask one last question?
Does the kardia state clearly when it is AF or do we need a doctor to read the ECG?
Thank you
When I have been in AFib, my Kardia said possible, atrial fibrillation. My doctor said that was correct, I was in AFib. I have had a few that said unclassified, usually there was some electrical running, like refrigerator or air conditioner. One morning my room mate was blending eggs with a metal whisk and the Kardia went crazy. It is better if you are in a quiet area.
