Has anyone had an invitation to join a fitbit based research exercise being run by Scripps Research via an app. The name of the study is 'Detect' and is asking for access to your fitbit data to look at the possible detection of early symptoms of viral illness.

Seems a good idea - as long as the data is gathered anonymously and there are some guarantees about not sharing data with insurance companies, employers etc,

Here is the ZOE app being used in the UK - not fitbit related but requires you to answer a couple of questions each day. They have 2m participants so far
I’ve been participating in the UCSF (University of California San Francisco) TemPredict study in association with my Oura ring (sleep monitor) which monitors self-reported symptoms daily in conjunction with its body temperature recording. I am not sure how useful it will end up being, but our government is being so lackluster and chaotic in its monitoring and testing that I’m praying that these private sector studies will be of some use for the future.
