Hi so I had an ablation about a little under a month ago and everything has been fine. Recovery was a pain but I am finally feeling less of the after effects. However, I have had a few instances where my heart would start beating fast and I could usually call someone or grab ice and calm it. But I can’t tell if these are SVT attacks or panic attacks. I never had an SVT attack before the ablation except the one attack that put me in the hospital. So if anyone could share their experience with SVT: could you calm it down quickly. Could you feel it coming on? Because this last one I woke up in the middle of the night feeling off then my heart started to beat quickly so I went and got ice, put it on my chest, and put my head between my knees and then it went away.
Thanks any feedback would be helpful!

Trouble is that high HR is a symptom of high anxiety so it is often really difficult to say and the only way to really know if there is anything unusual happening is to take an ECG/EKG and have an Electrophysiologist interpret the results.
Do you possess a Kardia? In occasions like this it can be very useful as you can then send the trace to your doctor and have a record over time of any changes.
If ice calms you, then in my opinion and not medically trained, I would suggest it could be postural and a Vagas nerve reaction to laying prone.
Hopefully it will be a one off during recovery time, 4 weeks is still fairly early in the recovery process as I found it was a good 9 months before my resting HR settled and all the lumps and bumps ceased.
You say recovery was a pain. Sorry you haven't reciovered yet! Three to six months is how long it takes for full receovery so please don't stress yet. Plenty of time.
