Thanks to all who advised and reassured me, this forum is a Godsend.

A lovely positive message to start the day, so pleased you are having some relief. If you don't do deep controlled breathing ( some great videos on you tube ) might be a good time to start , following my ablation every time I feel an odd beat I start the extra breathing and it has really helped. Good luck.
Wonderful news, swansong75. May I ask if you"ve ever had an ablation or did you just go into persistent with 24 days later going back to sinus? The latter would be remarkable.
wow! By definition, you are persistent after a continuous 7 days. Were you or are you on an anti-arrhythmic drug (which would imply chemical cardioversion) or on a rate control drug designed just to keep the heart rate down? Also, are you young? I am trying to figure out whether I would have benefited from being placed on an antiarrhythmic drug early on in my journey rather than just made to live with it without knowing what was going on although my GP knew more than little about AF.
No, my dosage of bisoprolol was increased to 5mg but that dropped my pulse to under 50 so went back to 2.5mg. I'm 63 and relatively fit. To be honest I don't feel unwell when in Afib it's just the irregular heart rate . Good luck and hope you get sorted
