You can donate to buy proper protection for our GPs here, though it looks a lot longer than when I donated:

Any way to check that it isn't a scam?

It came from a friend who covers NHS matters for Open Democracy and she got it from a GP friend and posted it on Facebook

I saw this a few days ago but not sure about it. No controls and I’m sure there are proper registered charities to donate to.

My local hospital has a “friends” page and I made my donation to them.

That might be an option for others

Go Fund Me is used by many organisations and is not spam! I gave after a GP had been particularly helpful during a phone call and I wanted her to stay safe!

I didn’t say it was. I’m just more comfortable giving to a registered charity.
