In London, Ian, John and the Nosh and Natter brigade met in their usual cafe before making their way across a deserted London to Hyde Park where the craft was sitting patiently. There they were met by Ayefers and they were deprived of all worldy possessions before donning the dark blue kaftans and being led up the seven steps into the craft where John turned to Ian and exclaimed "Dr Who was right". Ian commented on how much like Michael Rennie all the male Ayefers looked.

As they passed up the steps they were amused to see David Icke and Tony Blair arguing outside over which was responsible for bringing the crafts to Earth. They were still arguing two days later when the craft shimmered and dissapeared despite Blair being elligible for transport. All told over one and a half million people left Britain that day including Jean , Bob and Suzi who met in Exeter for the Exodus.

In America President Orange went on TV and claimed the craft to be a Chinese trick and ordered a wall to be built round every one. Tim , Nedra and the other three and a half million people in America with funny hearts all safely found refuge in the crafts before they left Earth for their new life in Ayef.

In Moscow chaos rained as the government collapsed when it was realised that money counted for nothing.

In Tehran, The Ayatollah denonced the craft as the work of the Great Satan America and promptly launched a pre-emptive stroke against Isreal who responded in kind leaving the area a smouldering ruin through which a small army of survivors steadfastly made their way to the various craft scattered around the country.

In Australia, Kaz and her friends used the warm Autumn weather to find the nearest craft. and this story was played out across all parts of the world before finally all the craft shimmered and vanished leaving earth forever.

Two days later a massive solar wind swept across the Earth evaporating human kind. Several days after that a group of white mice emerged from their hiding place, looked around and said to each other. "Well that was one big cockup. What shall we try now."

Sorry Jean , had to be done. Bob xx.

Truly needed this “Escape to Ayef”. Brilliant. Only 3.5 million? Requires further investigation 🤔

Probably as under reported as the deaths.

Absolutely brilliant Bob! Love it. Would be nice if others could write some of the next instalments now.

Wish I could carry the story on but I am not that imaginative when it comes to story telling.

Couldn't resists the Michael Rennie and white mice references for those with similar twisted minds to my own. lol

What do you mean 'dark blue kaftans'? I hope we get our own choice when we get to the planet! Dark blue is not my colour at all and the whole point of a kaftan apart from comfort is to display beautiful colours - hopefully the Ayefers have a technique to translate our brainwaves into a design on our kaftans - I'm channelling purple with a multi coloured design 👾

Who needs Eastenders!! Fantastic sequel!!

And the autumn Australian weather seemed to suddenly return to summer once more - 37 degrees today. Was it the solar winds, or the intergalactic visitors or was it global warming? A concept that seemed to consume the world until a deadly virus swept through all the counties on earth 🌍

I wonder how many people will make the connection? It's not quite Noah's Flood yet but mistreating the world instead of caring for it clearly has unforseen consequences 😱

I think the film was called The Day The Earth Stood Still. where an alien (Michael Rennie) came to earth to destroy us all for ruining our world. Probably 1950 something black and white film, I think he fell in love with a beautiful girl and forgave us in the end.

Ah that explains it well before I was born but I see the similarities let's hope it's a happy ending

Love this too! It is amazing how creative people are when confined. Our family are missing seeing each other and I was woken this morning at silly o'clock by my phone pinging. It was my two sons-in-law using the family Whatsapp group to try and solve a puzzle. We all got involved and the sun hadn't even risen.
