Have just been changed from Ramipril to Valsartan. Started them on Thursday and on Friday felt aful as my BP had dropped to 82/68. Best it came up to was 105/83. Felt pretty much the same yesterday, lowest 84/68 best 95/87. Today I made sure I left 12 hours between doses and was 94/76. Not feeling quite so disorientated.
I know it's a side effect of the drug and I can revert back to Ramipril if necessary but would appreciate anyone else's experiences as I'd prefer to persevere.
Thank you

I take Teltartan 80mg ( Telmisartan ) once a day, the Chemist gave me Mizart which is another brand and I felt awful , quite nauseous . Told the Chemist and he changed it back to Teltartan and no problems. BP varies 124/80 to 104/64 .
You might need to try another brand - Mizart said on the box New Formulation so they must vary.
I'll admit I know absolutely nothing about blood pressure, but if your current dose is taking yours down too low, then surely the answer would be reduce the dose.
I take Valsartan 160. I think it comes in 80 and 160. Depending on what dose you take, perhaps lower it? I'm fine with 160 but found any more too much. BP meds and their side effects do vary so much from person to person.
I’ve also just been changed from Ramipril to Valsartan and have been on 40mg for nearly two weeks. My bp is always low now when I take my Bp OJ the evenings. Once dropped below 58 but often around low 60s. In the mornings more usually around 101/74 I take my tablet at night after taking my bp. Changed as I had a cough and bleeding gums from Ramipril but still have a cough sadly
