Permanent AF

I have permanent AF.

Recently I've noticed dehydration has made me feel tightness in the chest, light headedness, unwell. I've noticed by reducing my Beta-blocker my perception of life and mental abilities are clearer, quicker, less sleepy. I feel better when I take them.

Air heaters don't help at all. Not just the drying effects but also the increase in heat.

More importantly my mental attitude is "I have AF. AF does not have me". So I'm making a list of things to do for my 60th and I plan to do them. I'm going to keep my friendships going. I'll keep taking my medication and not get hung up on being a person with AF. I have a life.

When we become dehydrated it can make our blood pressure drop. This could be what is making you feel light headed. So drinking more water could solve your problem.

It sounds like you are one of the lucky people whose AF is not debilitating. Some people have no choice but to lead a restricted life. Long may you continue coping so well.

Best wishes

Jean
